"Whisper" Richards replaces Gray in Reggae Boyz squad

Exciting young Chelsea winger Dujuan 'Whisper' Richards has been called up as a late replacement for Demarai Gray in the Reggae Boyz squad for their CONCACAF final round World Cup qualifier against Curacao on Friday.

19 year old Richards  who returned to competitive action in August with Chelsea's Under-21 team after a lengthy layoff following knee surgery, will join up with the Regage Boyz squad in Curacao.

The former Kingston College standout last played for the Reggae Boyz in 2023 and has played 10 games so far the national team, scoring one goal.

It’s understood that Birmingham City's Gray who sustained a groin injury in training on Tuesday, will return to the UK on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, the Reggae Boyz squad departed the island on Wednesday afternoon for Curacao. The teams will do battle on Friday at Ergilio Hato Stadium starting at 6:00 pm Jamaica time. The Reggae Boyz lead Group B with 6 points following wins over Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago in September.

Curacao are second on 4 points. Bermuda will host Trinidad and Tobago in the other group match on Friday.
